Major overhaul maximises engineering firm’s potential

Local business development consultancy, Winningbusiness, completes major overhaul of engineering company’s strategy culminating in a re-launch with a new name to reflect its expanded services.

Selsmore, a Havant based company with over 20 years’ experience in the plastic injection moulding industry, has been re-named Plastic Engineering Solutions Ltd (PES) to more accurately reflect the direction in which the company has been moving.

The process started last year when managing director James Pickford realised that he needed outside help to maximise the company’s sales potential. From a shortlist provided by Business Link he chose Bournemouth-based management consultancy Winningbusiness, checked their website at www.winningbusiness.co.uk and then contacted them on 01202 427464. Director, David Foster, undertook a complete review of Selsmore’s overall business process, including production and marketing, and developed a radical plan to take the business forward.

“The company had built its reputation on plastic injection moulding,” David explained. “However, it offered far more and could be more accurately described as providers of engineering-based solutions in plastic, hence the change to a more appropriate name and wholesale re-branding.

“We assessed current methods of production and marketing, developed a clearer understanding of the direction in which PES should be moving and, from that, created a new overall strategy for the business.”

We have a new name, new corporate image and new website,” said a delighted James Pickford, Managing Director of PES. “We’re still offering the same great service as before but the whole exercise has given us new focus and direction and, while it’s an ongoing process, we can see a much brighter and more profitable future ahead.” And, with some substantial new contracts won and talks with potential new big-name customers under way, PES is enjoying a new lease of life.
