'Shoot 4 Business' 5-a-side tournament

The 20 teams that entered the iimia ‘Shoot 4 Business’ 5 a side tournament played their hearts out last Friday, 15 May, for title of tournament winner! The event, organised by Dorset Business, was the first of its kind, with local business people being able to play on the very pitch at AFC Bournemouth’s Fitness First Stadium. David Foster, managing director of Winningbusiness and Dorset Business junior vice president, was part of the Dorset Business team which picked up the wooden spoon having lost all 8 games and scored only one goal. Despite this a great day was had by all.

The Falcons, from FR Aviation and Animal were in the final for the Championship League, with The Falcons then striving ahead to win the trophy. The Champions League proved a tough final with Fairline Andalucia and Bournemouth University. It resulted in penalties, with Bournemouth University then going on to be crowned the overall winners of the tournament.

Media sponsors FIRE 107.6FM were doing live feeds during the day keeping people up to date on how the teams were doing and the charity auction and raffle, in aid of Round Table Children’s Wish, granting wishes to terminally ill children, raised almost £1,000.

The day ended with the prize giving ceremony, where headline sponsors iimia Investment Group presented the winning teams with their trophies and the Dorset Business team with booby prizes. The new Chairman at AFC Bournemouth, Jeff Mostyn, thanked all the teams for being involved in the event and reiterating that organisers wish to make this an annual event.
